Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating has been used by the Romans as their principal source of heating by pumping hot air through a series of pipes. This is a primitive form of what we use today.
There are two types of underfloor heating available, an electric or a wet system which runs directly from your boiler. The electric system is available in either a loose wire or a mat. Both of these forms can usually be retrofitted over existing flooring (subject to a site survey). Both can be overlaid with tiles, laminate, wood or caprets.
As underfloor heating is low grade, it can be linked through your conventional heating system. Alternatively either a thermal store with solar panels or air source heat pump. These latter systems can be also eligible for the Government MCS or Feed In Tariff.
